Race Report

RACE-4 THE JINGZHOU (Div.1) RATING 45-20 (CLASS 4&5) 1200 METRES (348)

1 Small Waterfall (L Corrales) -Near the 500 metres faltered behind in the going, became unbalanced and lost ground. As a consequence then had its near hind leg contacted by 5 Yings Fans which was following. From the 200 metres to the 100 metres shifted out slightly under pressure and brushed with 6 Star Of Yiu Sun which at the same time shifted in slightly when inclined to lay in under pressure. Leaving the 100 metres after being struck with the whip, shifted out and then had to be steadied away from the heels of 6 Star Of Yiu Sun which at the same time shifted in slightly when laying in under pressure. As the Stewards deemed this a racing incident, no action was taken. Rider reported that leaving the 500 metres he felt his mount became unbalanced and had been contacted from behind. He added as he was unsure if his mount had sustained an injury, he elected to keep 1 Small Waterfall balanced until the home straight where he was satisfied and commenced to place 1 Small Waterfall under pressure.
3 Amazing Happy (F Henrique) -Near the 500 metres was hampered and taken wider on the track by 5 Yings Fans which was hanging out . A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Manson (Y M Choi) -Jumped away awkwardly and brushed with 5 Yings Fans. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Yings Fans (K H Yu) -Brushed with 4 Manson on jumping away. Near the 500 metres when trailing 1 Small Waterfall made contact with the near hind leg of 1 Small Waterfall after that runner had faltered behind and lost ground. Was then inclined to hang out for some distance thereafter, resulting in 3 Amazing Happy being hampered and taken wider on the track.
6 Star Of Yiu Sun (J B Hamel) -From the 200 metres to the 100 metres shifted in slightly when inclined to lay in under pressure and brushed with 1 Small Waterfall which at the same time shifted out slightly under pressure.
7 General Fu Hao (T Appie) -Near the 700 metres had to be eased away from the heels of 6 Star Of Yiu Sun which shifted in when not fully clear. Jockey J B Hamel the rider of 6 Star Of Yiu Sun was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.
