Race Report

RACE-5 THE TEMPLO DA DEUSA A-MA DIV.1 RATING 40-20 (MAIDEN) 1200 METRES (365)

2 Desi Prince (J B Hamel) -Stood flat footed as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer Y C Fung was informed that 2 Desi Prince will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Farmer's Voice (L Corrales) -Near the 500 metres had its hindquarters bumped by 6 Luen On Mammon which shifted out when hanging out.
4 Finance Time (W H Lao) -Jumped away awkwardly.
5 Kingdom Qi Feng (C L Cheung) -Was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.
6 Luen On Mammon (M Tanaka) -Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. From the 700 metres had a tendency to hang out and near the 500 metres became unbalanced when hanging out and making contact with the hindquarters of 3 Farmer's Voice. In the home straight continued to hang out and proved difficult to ride out. On pulling up continued to hang out and ran off to the outside running rail dislodging Jockey M Tanaka. Jockey M Tanaka was exempted from weighing in. Jockey M Tanaka was subsquently examined by the Club’s Medical Officer and passed fit to continue riding. After considering the racing manners of 6 Luen On Mammon, the Stewards informed Trainer G Allendorf that 6 Luen On Mammon will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial.
7 The Fat White (S H Huang) -Raced wide without cover for the majority. Blundered near the 300 metres. Near the 100 metres hung in under pressure and had to be corrected by its rider.
8 Yau Ming Achiever (B Yamzon) -Was slow to begin.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Following the running of the race the “Enquiry” sign was semaphored to allow the Stewards an opportunity to review the patrol film to ascertain whether 2 Desi Prince had been afforded a fair start. It was established that as the start was effected, 2 Desi Prince stood flat footed and lost considerable ground. As the Stewards were satisfied that 2 Desi Prince had been afforded a fair start, correct weight was declared.
