Race Report

RACE-1 THE GOODWOOD RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1200 METRES (25)

2 Go Fish Go (L Corrales) -Near the 300 metres had to be eased away from the heels of 3 Hundred Victories which shifted in slightly. Leaving the 200 metres was obliged to shift to the outside of 3 Hundred Victories to obtain clear running.
3 Hundred Victories (M Tanaka) -Near the 150 metres blundered in the going. Was then held up for the remainder of the race and went to the finish line without being fully tested.
4 Wealthyness (C L Cheung) -Bumped with 9 Win Win Partners on jumping away and shortly after the start bumped with 5 Cinderella Way. Leaving the 1000 metres blundered in the going. Leaving the 800 metres blundered in the going. Leaving the 300 metres brushed 6 Wealthy Land.
5 Cinderella Way (W H Lao) -Was marginally slow to begin and shortly after the start bumped with 4 Wealthyness. Raced greenly in the early stages and near the 950 metres when racing ungenerously had to be eased away from the heels of 3 Hundred Victories which shifted in when not fully clear. After taking into consideration the racing manners of 5 Cinderella Way at the point of the incident, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise Jockey M Takana the rider of 3 Hundred Victories to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Wealthy Land (Y M Choi) -Leaving the 300 metres brushed with 4 Wealthyness.
7 Joyful Fighter (S H Huang) -Rider accidently dropped his whip near the 100 metres. Jockey S H Huang was issued a reprimand.
8 River Exquisite (K H Yu) -Was marginally slow to begin. Near the 800 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 5 Cinderella Way.
9 Win Win Partners (B Yamzon) -Bumped with 4 Wealthyness on jumping away.
10 General Fu Hao (F Henrique) -Near the 750 metres had to be checked away from the heels of 1 Express Pony which shifted in when not fully clear. Whilst being checked 1 Express Pony blundered and shifted in further resulting in 10 General Fu Hao clipping the heels of 1 Express Pony and being further checked.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 750 metres where 10 General Fu Hao had to be checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 1 Express Pony (S Nakano) and 10 General Fu Hao (F Henrique). Jockey S Nakano the rider of 1 Express Pony was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 750 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear 10 General Fu which had to be checked. Jockey S Nakano was issued a monetary fine of HK$10,000 in lieu of a 1 racemeeting suspension. In arriving at penalty the Stewards took into account, Jockey S Nakano’s disciplinary record and all mitigating factors. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
