Race Report

RACE-3 JAPAN RACING ASSOCIATION GOODWILL STAKES RATING 70+ (CLASS 1&2) 1350 METRES (88)

1 Fasuba (Apprentice X C Liang) -Near 250 metres was brushed by 8 Mountain Tiger which hung in under pressure before being corrected by its rider. Near the 200 metres had to be steadied when bumped by 8 Mountain Tiger which continued to hang in under pressure whilst being ridden along. Jockey T Appie the rider of 8 Mountain Tiger was issued a severe reprimand and he was advised that he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts in similar circumstances in future.
2 Sacred Capital (Apprentice Tesuri) -Was slow to begin. Shifted out under pressure over the final 200 metres.
3 Sheng Li Superstar (L Corrales) -Near the 1300 metres had to be steadied away from the heels of 1 Fasuba which shifted in when not fully clear whilst being ridden along. Apprentice X C Liang the rider of 1 Fasuba was issued a severe reprimand and advised that he is to ensure he is sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground at all times. Leaving the 50 metres had to alter course inwards away from the heels of 8 Mountain Tiger which was shifting in under pressure and then over the concluding stages had to be steadied when tightened for room between 9 Kelowna Star which shifted out slightly and 8 Mountain Tiger which continued to shift in under pressure whilst being ridden along. After considering all the circumstances, the Stewards issued Jockey T Appie the rider of 8 Mountain Tiger a severe reprimand and he was advised he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts in similar circumstances in future.
5 City Gold (K H Yu) -Rider reported in his opinion his mount resented racing in the kickback. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Rock To Road (H Lam) -Was fractious in the barriers. Subsequently underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Trainer S H Cheong was informed that a warning had been placed on 6 Rock To Road in relation to its barrier manners.
8 Mountain Tiger (T Appie) -Was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight and near the 200 metres shifted in and bumped 1 Fasuba.
