Race Report

RACE-1 THE PHILADELPHIA RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1200 METRES (141)

1 Top Mountain Hero (K H Yu) -For some distance after the start was inclined to lay out and away from 7 Collateral Mission and near the 1150 metres raced ungenerously for a short distance when being eased by its rider. Checked near the 750 metres.
3 Vibrant City (C L Cheung) -Jumped away awkwardly and was then crowded for room between 5 Rivalry and 8 Half Lamma Boss which shifted out slightly.
4 Kelvin's Choice (Y M Choi) -Raced fiercely in the early stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Superlative Choice (S Nakano) -Rider S Nakano was reminded of his obligations to ride all his mounts out fully to the finish where possible.
10 Heartgoodallwell (W H Lao) -Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded for room between 9 Emerald George which shifted in slightly and 1 Top Mountain Hero which was laying out and away from 7 Collateral Mission. Near the 300 metres was obliged to alter course outwards when awkwardly placed on the heels of 9 Emerald George.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 750 metres where 1 Top Mountain Hero was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 1 Top Mountain Hero (K H Yu) and 6 Superlative Choice (S Nakano). Jockey S Nakano the rider of 6 Superlative Choice pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 750 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 1 Top Mountain Hero which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey S Nakano’s license to ride in races was suspended for 1 racemeeting covering the meeting of Saturday 26 March 2022. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account his riding record, his guilty plea and the degree of the interference. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
