Race Report

RACE-1 THE ROSARIO RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1200 METRES (182)

2 Iu Cheong Emperor (B Yamzon) -Jumped away awkwardly and made contact with the outside barrier partition. Near the 200 metres had to be steadied away from the heels of 1 Grand Magus which shifted in under pressure whilst being ridden along, before being corrected by its rider. Jockey T Appie the rider of 1 Grand Magus was issued a severe reprimand and he was advised that in similar circumstances, he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts sooner than he did on this occasion.
3 River Warrior (C L Cheung) -Near the 750 metres blundered.
5 Fully Realised (M Tanaka) -Approaching and passing the 800 metres raced fiercely when awkwardly placed on the heels of 7 Go Fish Go.
6 Yiu Cheung Prince (K F Choi) -Leaving the 200 metres rider accidentally dropped his whip.
7 Go Fish Go (L Corrales) -Near the 250 metres was disappointed for a run between 3 River Warrior and 8 Magnesium Alloy and was then obliged to shift in across the heels of 3 River Warrior to obtain clear running. Near the 50 metres raced up onto the heels of 4 Wealthy Land and was shifted out to obtain clear running.
8 Magnesium Alloy (H Lam) -Checked near the 50 metres.
9 Win Win Partners (S H Huang) -A post race veterinary examination revealed that it was lame in the right foreleg. Trainer Pat Lee was informed that 9 Win Win Partners will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that a veterinary certificate is produced.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident near the 50 metres where 8 Magnesium Alloy was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 8 Magnesium Alloy (H Lam) and 7 Go Fish Go (L Corrales). Jockey L Corrales the rider of 7 Go Fish Go was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of 8 Magnesium Alloy which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey L Corrales’ license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 1 racemeeting covering the meeting of Saturday, 30 April 2022. In arriving at penalty the Stewards took into account his riding record and all mitigating factors. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
