Race Report

RACE-3 THE AHMADABAD RATING 70+ (CLASS 1&2) 1200 METRES (245)

1 Thanks Forever (L Corrales) -A post race veterinary examination at the request of the rider failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Gon Sai Baau (S Nakano) -Hampered by 11 Diamond Rivers on jumping away which hung out abruptly. Near the 700 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 9 Fifer which lost ground whilst being steadied when taken in by 11 Diamond Rivers which shifted in. Rounding the home turn momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of 9 Fifer which after racing up onto the heels of 1 Thanks Forever was shifted in before being corrected by its rider. As the Stewards deemed this a racing incident, no action was taken. Rider reported that his mount failed to handle today’s track conditions. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Qian Gua (Y M Choi) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Number Zero (H Lam) -Was slow to begin and shortly after the start brushed with 8 Hostwin Saturn. Near the 150 metres brushed with 8 Hostwin Saturn.
6 Sacred Magnate (C L Cheung) -Leaving the 300 metres was inclined to shift out and away from 9 Fifer.
7 Simon Fubuki (A A Rivera) -Rider dropped his whip rounding the home turn.
8 Hostwin Saturn (K F Choi) -Was slow to begin and shortly after the start brushed with 5 Number Zero. Near the 150 metres brushed with 5 Number Zero.
9 Fifer (W H Lao) -Near the 700 metres was steadied when taken inwards by 11 Diamond Rivers which shifted in when not fully clear. Jockey S H Huang the rider of 11 Diamond Rivers was issued a severe reprimand and was advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground at all times. For some distance leaving the 350 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 1 Thanks Forever and leaving the 300 metres was shifted to the outside of 10 Luen On Poseidon to obtain clear running.
11 Diamond Rivers (S H Huang) -Hung out abruptly on jumping away and hampered 2 Gon Sai Baau. Trainer Pat Lee was informed that a warning had been placed on 11 Diamond Rivers in relation to its racing manners. Was inclined to shift out under pressure over the final 100 metres.
