Race Report

RACE-3 THE NAPLES RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1350 METRES (257)

3 City Lucky Star (L Corrales) -Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages and near the 1000 metres bumped with 5 Mr Donut.
4 King Of Glamour (Apprentice Tesuri) -The Stewards questioned Apprentice Tesuri in regards to his ride on 4 King Of Glamour. Apprentice Tesuri stated that he was instructed to settle second last and have the gelding travel where it was comfortable. He stated that 4 King Of Glamour began well in tonight’s race and racing around the first turn in his opinion the leaders 3 City Lucky Star and 5 Mr Donut were setting a fast tempo, and as a result he elected not to chase 4 King Of Glamour to hold its position but rather to have it travelling where it was comfortable. He further added that near the 1000 metres he attempted to hold his position to the inside of 2 Top Mountainlegend for a short distance, however his mount failed to muster speed and he again elected not to chase his mount. He added that from the 700 metres until the home turn he elected to save ground on the running rail and on entering the home straight he then had some difficulty pulling the whip through to his right hand. He further added he then applied the whip in the left hand, however 4 King Of Glamour was one paced in the home straight. The Stewards advised Apprentice Tesuri that he should have urged his mount along a lot sooner than he did on this occasion between the 700 metres and on entering the home straight. After considering all of circumstances and taking into consideration Apprentice Tesuri’s relative inexperience, the Stewards noted his explanation. He was further advised that his ride will be referred to the Club’s Jockey Training Program Panel for review.
5 Mr Donut (C L Cheung) -Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages and near the 1000 metres bumped with 3 City Lucky Star.
7 Hostwin Prosperits (H Lam) -Jumped away awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Military Strongman (K F Choi) -Jumped away awkwardly. Near the 1250 metres had to be eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of 4 King Of Glamour which shifted in slightly.
