Race Report

RACE-5 THE KENNEDY TOWN RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1050 METRES (313)

1 Danish Star (S H Huang) -The Stewards questioned Jockey S H Huang the rider of 1 Danish Star in regards to his riding in the home straight. Jockey S H Huang stated that near the 250 metres he was obliged to shift in across the heels 5 Foxy Rocket to obtain clear running as that runner which was racing to his inside shifted out under pressure. He added whilst shifting inwards, he attempted to rein up his mount however his hand got tangled in his mount’s mane and as a result he accidently dropped his right rein approaching the 200 metres. He added that he then had difficulty regaining his right rein until near the 150 metres where 1 Danish Star then finished off the race strongly under pressure. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards noted Jockey S H Huang’s explanation, however reminded him of his obligations to ride all his mounts in such a manner as to leave no room for query.
2 Mcilroy (H Lam) -Shifted out abruptly on jumping away hampering 4 Famous Pal. Trainers K C Tse/P Leshan were informed that a warning would be placed on 2 Mcilroy in relation to its racing manners.
4 Famous Pal (K F Choi) -Hampered by 2 Mcilroy on jumping away which shifted out abruptly. Raced wide without cover throughout.
5 Foxy Rocket (L Corrales) -Made contact with the outside barrier partition on jumping away. Was inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight.
6 River Arrow (K H Yu) -Near the 950 metres shifted in and made contact with the running rail of its own accord. Trainer S H Cheong was informed that a warning would be placed on 6 River Arrow in relation to its racing manners.
7 Famous Man (C L Cheung) -Jumped away awkwardly. Rider reported after jumping away awkwardly, his mount did not travel as he had expected and in his opinion after being crossed by runners, 7 Famous Man resented racing in the kickback. He further added that he advised Trainer S H Cheong that in his opinion 7 Famous Man may perform better with the removal of the hood and with the addition of blinkers. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer S H Cheong was informed that he would be required to present 7 Famous Man to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 6 August 2022.
