Race Report

RACE-4 THE CHARLTON RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1050 METRES (118)

3 As I Wish (W L Ho) –Near the 900 metres was racing tight with 7 Holy Ascension turning that gelding outwards and shifting out slightly. At the same time 1 Sharon Star shifted in resulting in As I Wish having to be restrained. Jockey C Perkins the rider of 1 Sharon Star was severely reprimanded and advised that he must be at least 2 lengths clear when shifting grounds at all times.
4 Great Idea (L Salles) - Disappointing performance. Rider reported that his mount was under pressure throughout the race, however did not respond to his riding. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Gold Selection (D Chong) –Raced wide for the majority of the event.
7 Holy Ascension (K K Lai) –Shortly after the start became unbalanced when tightened for room between 3 As I Wish which shifted in and 9 Brave Horse which was taken out slightly by 2 Sweet Korean which shifted out.
9 Brave Horse (H Lam) –On jumping away was momentarily tightened for room between 7 Holy Ascension and 2 Sweet Korean which shifted out.
10 Cool Brother (A Calder) –When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance, Assistant Trainer W Heffernan, explained that the horse had just returned from a spell and had been freshened up for the race.
