Race Report

RACE 3 - THE BOLTON RATING 45-25 (CLASS 4&5) 1500M (129)

3 Qiao Tou Win (D Chong) –Hampered at the start, got its head up and lost ground (3L) when tightened onto 2 Rush'N Prince (L Salles) by 7 Chinese Dragon (L Corrales) which jumped outwards. Rider D Chong was questioned by the Stewards in relation to his tactics passing 700 metres when he temporally stopped riding his mount for several strides. Rider D Chong reported that he was struck in the face by a clod of turf and temporarily lost his vision. He further added that once he was able to clear the mud from his goggles he then commence to ride his mount in his normal manner. Jockey D Chong was examined by the Club’s Medical Officer and declared fit to race. A post race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding lame right foreleg.
4 Four Season Health (W T Pao) –Over raced approaching and passing the 900 metres.
5 Luen Yat Command (Apprentice Y M Choi) –Race wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
6 Win Perfectly (W L Ho) –Slow away (2L).
7 Chinese Dragon (L Corrales) –Prior to the race the connection of 7 Chinese Dragon (L Corrales) advised Stewards that they would attempt to ride the gelding in a more forward position due the favorable barrier draw. Jumped away awkwardly did not muster early speed and settled in the midfield position. Approaching the 1200 metres mark had to be restrained when tightened for room by 2 Rush'N Prince (L Salles) which was taken in by 9 Pawmaster (C F Chan). After considering all the circumstance Stewards severely reprimanded C F Chan and notified him that he must make a far greater effort to straighten his mount than he did on this occasion.
8 Zirconium Alloy (C F Wong) –Passing 600 metres had to be steadied when racing in restricted room. Poor performance, beaten in excess of 48 lengths. Trainer C F Chan was notified that the gelding must perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial, at which time it will not be permitted to race for 11 days.
9 Pawmaster (C F Chan)- Poor performance. Rider reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding from the 600 metres. Laid in passing the 600 metres before being straightened by its rider.
11 Auspicious Dragon (M Cangas) -Poor performance, beaten in excess of 32 lengths. Trainer G Allendrof was notified that the gelding must perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial, at which time it will not be permitted to race for 11 days.

12 Power Savabeel (A Calder) –Poor performance. Rider of 12 Power Savabeel reported that his mount did not handle today’s heavy conditions. A post race veterinary examination order by the Stewards failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
