Race Report

RACE-1 THE PIMLICO (Div. 1) RATING 30-0 (CLASS 6) 1500 METRES (326)

2 God Get People (L Corrales) –Jockey L Corrales explained that his mount had the run of the race, however after straightening, he initially endeavored to shift to the outside of 8 Happy Proposal to obtain a clear run, but that gelding shifted ground in front of him closing the run between it and 6 Best Double. He then elected to shift back in and was again disappointed when unable to obtain a clear run between 1 River Freedom and 5 Concentration. He added that he then had difficulty obtaining a run until near the 50 metres and when in clear running his mount did not respond as he would have expected. He further added that 2 God Get People did have a tendency to lay out and highlighted that the gelding was found to have bled from both nostrils. A post race veterinary examination revealed 2 God Get People had suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer K M Chin was informed that the standard stand down period applies and before being permitted to race again, the gelding will be required to pass an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary certificate must be produced.
3 Golden Commandment (W H Lao) –Rider was issued with severe reprimand for making a celebratory gesture prior to the post. In arriving at this decision, the Stewards took into account his excellent record.
4 Auspicious Dragon (B Yamzon) –The Stewards questioned Jockey B Yamzon regarding the tactics adopted on 4 Auspicious Dragon which led last start. He explained that he had been instructed to go forward if the horse began well, however it jumped only fairly and due to the speed to his inside he elected to come back and obtain a position closer to the rail. He said that he was urging his mount along in the back straight where it responded only fairly, however he was on the back of the leader from the 800 metres and rounding the home turn. He added that at the entrance into the straight he initially looked to shift in to obtain a run inside of 2 God Get People, however when that gelding shifted in, he then elected to come to the outside and shift wider on the track to obtain clear running. The Stewards notified Jockey Yamzon that they did have some concerns with his vigor, in particular in the early part of the straight. He was further notified of his obligations to ride all his mount in such a manner as to leave no room for query.
9 Rockin Laser (A Aucharuz) –Raced ungenerously through the early stages, getting its head up and was caught wide before being restrained to obtain cover closer to the rails near the 1000 metres. Had to be checked when disappointed for a run between 7 Delight Consul and 10 Windsor Arch Two which shifted out at the entrance to the straight. Shortly after this was inconvenienced when tightened between 7 Delight Consul and 10 Windsor Arch Two which was taken out further by 3 Golden Commandment which shifted out from behind 6 Best Double.
10 Windsor Arch Two (C F Wong) –Raced three wide without cover throughout until the 700 metres. Became unbalanced near the 200 metres when inconvenienced by 3 Golden Commandment.
