Race Report

RACE-4 THE TAEJON (TURF) RATING 45-25 (CLASS 4&5) 1500 METRES (365)

1 Florence Elite (B Yamzon) –For some distance approaching the 500 metres was held up when unable to improve its position
3 Turquoise Lucky (C F Chan) -A post race veterinary examination at the request of its rider failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Treasure Smile (A Calder) –Rider reported that his mount never travelled and was disappointing. A post race veterinary failed to reveal any significant abnormality. A swab sample was taken for analysis.
7 Destney (L Corrales) – Approaching the 100 metres shifted out and made contact with 1 Florence Elite which shifted in.
9 Win Perfectly (K K Lai) –Race three wide without cover.
11 Great River (K H Yu) – Jumped away awkwardly and was taken out across the heels of 4 Treasure Smile after being bumped by 3 Turquoise Lucky. When questioned rider explained to the Stewards that the entrance into the straight it had been his intention to stay on the fence and obtain a run to the inside of 7 Destney, however when that horse was shifting about in front of him he then elected to come to the outside of it in order to obtain clear running. He added that as he shifted out near the 100 metres he then had difficulty obtaining a clear run due to 5 Luen Yat Command being tight to this outside.
12 I'm Sincere (R Curatolo) –Refused to be load and was a late withdrawal at 5:54pm. Trainers C Marshall/K C Wong were informed that the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until it has performed satisfactorily in an official Barrier Trial.
13 Rosary Diamond (A Aucharuz) –Was held up from approaching the 400 metres until the entrance into the straight.
