Race Report

RACE-2 THE KIANGSU RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1500 METRES (32)

1 River Control (K W Leong) –Raced wide without cover until near the 700 metres. Was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
2 Stallion Treasure (W L Ho) –Raced wide rounding the home turn and laid in under pressure in the home straight.
3 Stallion Elite (K K Lai) –Cast its right fore plate during the event.
4 Haayil Shadow (L Salles) –Was held up and unable to improve rounding the home turn. Checked near the 100 metres when tightened by 2 Stallion Traasure which shifted in.
6 Magic Miles (A Calder) –Reared on jumping away. Poor performance. Rider reported that his mount was under pressure from the 600 metres and in his opinion failed to handle today’s track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Full Of Luck (K H Yu) –Jumped awkwardly. Near the 1400 metres was bumped by 4 Haayil Shadow which was taken out by 5 One From Many which shifted out slightly. Poor performance. Rider reported that in his opinion his mount was not comfortable racing in today’s track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 There You'll Be (A Aucharuz) –Leaving the 1300 metres when over racing was steadied off the heels of 3 Stallion Elite which shifted in. After considering all the circumstances, Jockey K K Lai the rider of 3 Stallion Elite was severely reprimanded and advised that he would be expected to be sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Jockey W L Ho the rider of 2 Stallion Treasure pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 100 metres when 2 Stallion Treasure was laying in under pressure, he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in resulting in 4 Haayil Shadow (L Salles) having to be checked. Jockey W L Ho’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of two racemeetings to cover the meetings of 29th October and 4th November 2016. In assessing penalty the Stewards took into account the degree of interference, the racing manners of 2 Stallion Treasure at the time of the incident and his riding record. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
