Race Report

RACE-5 THE KOBE RATING 70+ (CLASS 1&2) 1350 METRES (217)

1 River Bobo (R Maia) –Was slow to begin. From the 500 metres was inclined to hang out. Performed below market expectations. Rider was unable to offer any tangible explanation for the performance other than it raced flat. A swab sample was taken analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Pak Lok Angel (L Salles) –Jockey L Salles was issued a severe reprimand under MJC Rule 141 (ii) for weighing in in excess of 2lbs over the allocated weight.
5 Advance Mission (W L Ho) –Near the 200 metres had to be checked away from the heels of 12 Ashkari which shifted in when not fully clear. Jockey M Cangas the rider of 12 Ashkari was issued a severe reprimand and advised that he is to be sufficiently clear of other runners when shifting ground in future. In determining a severe reprimand, the Stewards took into account his very good riding record with regards to this offence.
8 Healthy Life (K K Lai) –A post race veterinary examination as the request of the rider failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Gem Eagle (H Lam) –Raced wide without cover throughout.
11 Yang Jiang Star (K W Leong) –Was slow to begin.
