1 My Club (M Wepner) - At the 1000 metres had to be steadied outwards when 7 Mackinac Island rolled out and carried 11 Bring Me Speed wide. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. The Stewards questioned Trainer K H Leong into the reason for My Club being unable to hold its position in the middle stages. Trainer K H Leong was unable to offer any tangible explain. The Stewards advised Trainer K H Leong that they would expect all his runners to race consistently whenever possible.
7 Mackinac Island (B Yamzon) - At the 1000 metres rolled out with 1 My Club having to be steadied outwards carrying 11 Bring Me Speed wide. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
11 Bring Me Speed (W Smith) - At the 1000 metres was carried wide by 1 My Club. Raced wide from the 500 metres to the home turn. From the 250 metres to the 200 metres shifted out under pressure. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. The Stewards questioned both Trainer and rider and the inquiry was adjourned to a date and time to be fixed.
