RACE-2 THE ST. HELENS RATING 55-30 (CLASS 4) 1500 METRES (111)
3 Stallion Treasure (W L Ho) -Was slow into stride.
5 Happy Encore (B Yamzon) -Was slow into stride. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Altered (M Nunes) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Vancouver Jaguar (M Wepner) -A swab sample was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. When questioned Jockey Wepner said that his mount traveled well during the race, however over the final 400 metres was a bit flat and one paced. He added that in his opinion 7 Vancouver Jaguar may not have backed up from its previous race which was 6 days ago. Trainer C F Chan said that the horse has gone up in weight, carrying 129lbs and only being a small horse, he believes the weight may have anchored it down for the sprint run home tonight. He was informed that should be become aware of anything amiss with the gelding he is to report back to the Stewards. Furthermore, Trainer C F Chan was informed that he would be required to present the gelding to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Saturday, 27 January 2018.
8 Double Heaven (M Belli) -Was slow into stride and shortly after was bumped by 12 Kelson.
11 Haayil Shadow (K W Leong) -Shifted in away from clear running at the 100 metres to the outside of 9 Sacred Major. Jockey K W Leong after seeing the video conceded that there was clear run to his outside which he should have taken instead of shifting in at the time. He was issued with a severe reprimanded and informed that he would be expected to take advantage of runs whenever possible in future.
12 Kelson (A Calder) -Jumped awkwardly and bumped 8 Double Heaven.
13 Victory Achiever (K K Lai) -Was slow to begin and shortly after threw its head up.
