Race Report

RACE-5 THE DATONG RATING 60-35 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (208)

1 Chi Chai Sin Sang (T Appie) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Golden Rose (B Yamzon) -Near the 1150 metres had to be checked when tightened for room between 8 Snow Dragon which shifted out slightly and 6 Draft Camp which after being initially taken in by 1 Chi Chai Sin Sang which shifted in slightly when laying in, then shifted in when inclined to lay in and away from 1 Chi Chai Sin Sang. As Stewards deemed this a racing incident, no action was taken. Near the 500 metres was taken out by 6 Draft Camp which shifted out around 9 Handsome Alloy to improve. Near the 250 metres had to be steadied away from the heels of 5 Master Hunter which shifted out abruptly under pressure when not fully clear. After considering all of the circumstances, Apprentice Tesuri the rider of 5 Master Hunter will be issued a severe reprimand and will be advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts sooner than he did on this occasion. Near the 150 metres then had to be steadied when tightened for room between 6 Draft Camp which shifted out slightly and 5 Master Hunter which after racing up onto the heels of 11 Small Waterfall which was weakening, then shifted in. As the Stewards deemed this a racing incident, no action was taken.
5 Master Hunter (Apprentice Tesuri) -Was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.
6 Draft Camp (M Tanaka) -Approaching the 800 metres was momentarily tightened for room by 9 Handsome Alloy which shifted in when not fully clear. Jockey C L Cheung the rider of 9 Handsome Alloy was issued a severe reprimand and he was advised he is to ensure he is sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground at all times.
7 Hostwin Sunlight (K H Yu) -Rider reported his mount was making abnormal respiratory noises in the home straight and as a result he did not ride it out over the final 100 metres. Trainer Y C Fung was informed that he would be required to present to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 10 April 2022.
11 Small Waterfall (H Lam) -Raced wide without cover throughout.
