“Win Win Friendship” and “Lucky Winston” win “University of Macau Alumni Association Cup 2017” and “Directors’ Cup”

“Win Win Friendship” and “Lucky Winston” won the “University of Macau Alumni Association Cup 2017” and “Directors’ Cup” held on Saturday, 24 June 2017 respectively.

After the “University of Macau Alumni Association Cup 2017”, Mr Vong Chong Fai, First Vice Chairman of University Council of UM presented the trophy to representatives of Financial Friends Syndicate. Dr Ao Peng Kong, Chairman of Board of General Assembly of University of Macau Alumni Association presented the trophy to Winning Trainer K C Chong. Advogodo Mak Heng Ip, Legal Adviser of University of Macau Alumni Association presented the trophy to winning Jockey R Maia. After that, Mr Lui Siu Mun, Director of Macau Jockey Club presented souvenirs to Mr Leong Chi Pang, Patrick, Vice President of Board of General Assembly of University of Macau Alumni Association as thanks. Mr Kot Man Kam, Nelson, President of University of Macau Alumni Association presented souvenirs to Mr Bernard Yip, Director of Business Affairs of Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A. (SJM) in return. Before the race, Dr Cheang Tak Son, Thomas, Vice President of Board of General Assembly of University of Macau Alumni Association presented the Best Performance Mafoo award to the Mafoo of “Eangle Commander”.

After the “Directors’ Cup” race, Mr Lui Siu Mun, Director of Macau Jockey Club presented the trophy to the winning Owner Mr Tam Vai Lam. Dr Rui Jose da Cunha, Director of Macau Jockey Club presented the trophies to the winning Trainer K S Cheong and Jockey M Wepner respectively. Before the race, Mr Lam King Poy, Senior Honorary Racing Steward of MJC presented the Best Performance Mafoo award to the Mafoo of “Lucky Winston”.

Carrying a prizemoney of $240,000, “University of Macau Alumni Association Cup 2017” was a Rating 60-40 event run over a distance of 1200 metres on turf.

Carrying a prizemoney of $700,000, the “Directors’ Cup” (Group 2) was an open race run over a distance of 1,500 metres on turf. There were no allowances for freelance jockeys or apprentices.
