1 Luen On Eagle (W Smith) -Upon entering the home straight was held up and unable to obtain clear running until the 200 metres.
3 Lucky Today (W L Ho) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Porcini (R Maia) -Leaving the 100 metres momentarily raced in restricted room between 8 Northern Legend and 10 Greatest Prodigy, both of which shifted ground. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Eclair Lightning (S Nakano) -Caught racing wide without cover in the early stages before improving to a position outside of the leader near the 1000 metres. The Stewards questioned Trainer P Leyshan regarding the reason 5 Eclair Lightning settled in a more handy position than it did at its first Macau start. Trainer P Leyshan stated he had issued the same instructions than he did when it raced on 30 December 2018, which was to be handy on the speed as the gelding had shown early pace in its Barrier Trials. He added due to the gelding jumping awkwardly and the circumstances in the early stages of that race, 5 Eclair Lightning had settled further back than he had expected. The Stewards noted his explanation.
7 Benson (M Wepner) -Was marginally slow to begin.
10 Greatest Prodigy (L Corrales) -Raced fiercely in the early stages and near the 1200 metres had to be steadied when over racing on the heels of 1 Luen On Eagle. Thereafter continued to over race for some distance. Upon entering the home straight was unable to obtain clear running until leaving the 200 metres
11 One Belt One Road (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Raced wide without cover throughout. Near the 250 metres when weakening was eased momentarily away from the heels of 8 Northern Legend which shifted out. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
