1 General Fu Hao (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Threw its head in the air on jumping away and as a result lost ground. Near the 450 metres raced in restricted room to the inside of 7 Pearl Bobo which shifted in slightly to avoid the heels of the tiring 2 Master Paradise.
2 Master Paradise (L Corrales) -Was inspected behind the barriers by the Veterinary Surgeon at the request of the rider and passed fit to race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Luen On Prodigy (S Ladjadj) -Rider reported that he had steadied his mount near the 250 metres when he observed interference in front of him and was concerned that if he continued riding his mount would meet with interference. He further stated that he was unable to offer any tangible explanation for today’s performance other than he was very disappointed with the performance of 3 Luen On Prodigy today. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Chase Wind (W L Ho) -A post race veterinary examination revealed that 5 Chase Wind suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer C F Chan was informed that the standard stand down period applies and 5 Chase Wind will not be permitted to race again until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary certificate is produced.
6 Cushie Butterfield (H Lam) -Near the 250 metres shifted in abruptly away from the whip and bumped 10 House Of Power. Was then inclined to shift in under pressure in the home straight and as a result had to be corrected by its rider on a number of occasions proving difficult to ride out.
8 My Golden Boy (J B Hamel) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Luen On Warrior (W H Lao) -Leaving the 200 metres shifted out under pressure.
10 House Of Power (F Henrique) -Near the 250 metres had to be checked when heavily bumped by 6 Cushie Butterfield which shifted in abruptly away from the whip. After taking into consideration the racing history of 6 Cushie Butterfield, the Stewards advised Trainer N Moore that the filly will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial. In addition, the Stewards whilst acknowledging the racing manners and history of 6 Cushie Butterfield, nevertheless issued Jockey H Lam with a severe reprimand and advised him that he should have stopped riding and corrected his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.
11 Mr Half Lamma (M Tanaka) -Leaving the 200 metres was hampered and taken wider on the track by 9 Luen On Warrior which shifted out under pressure when not fully clear. Jockey W H Lao the rider of 9 Luen On Warrior was issued with a severe reprimanded and advised that he would be expected to stop riding and correct his mount sooner than he did on this occasion.
12 Thunder Bear (T Appie) -Was slow to begin.
