RACE-3 THE AFONSO ALBUQUERQUE RATING 80-60 (CLASS 2&3) 1500 METRES (27)

1 King Of Glamour (C L Cheung) -Had to be resaddled in the parade ring. Jumped away awkwardly. Leaving the 50 metres blundered when being shifted out away from the heels of 2 Krystrump which was hanging out under pressure. The Stewards will severely reprimand Jockey T Appie the rider of 2 Krystrump for failing to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting out.
2 Krystrump (T Appie) -Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Hung out rounding the home turn. Near the 150 metres was brushed by 5 Victory Moment which was laying out under pressure. A short distance later shifted in and bumped 5 Victory Moment. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Tuhao Choice (L Corrales) -Was slow to begin.
6 Qian Gua (B Yamzon) -Near the 1250 metres had to be checked. On entering the back straight when the pace of the race slowed had to be eased away from the heels of 9 Fortune Generation which when racing ungenerously on the heels of 8 Eclair Hunter shifted in. Leaving the 1100 metres had to be checked when tightened for room by 9 Fortune Generation which shifted in when continuing to race ungenerously close to the heels of 8 Eclair Hunter. After considering all of the circumstances, in particular the slow tempo of the race and the racing manners of 9 Fortune Generation, the Stewards deemed this to be a racing incident and took no further action other than to advise all riders to exercise more care.
7 Big Alloy (K H Yu) -Cast its right fore plate.
8 Eclair Hunter (W H Lao) -Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. In the early stages of the home straight was held up and was unable to establish clear running until near the 200 metres.
9 Fortune Generation (Y M Choi) -Leaving the 200 metres had to be eased momentarily away from the heels of 8 Eclair Hunter which shifted in to secure clear running.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Steward inquired into the reason 6 Qian Gua had to be checked near the 1250 metres. Evidence was taken from the riders of 6 Qian Gua (B Yamzon) and 9 Fortune Generation (Y M Choi). Jockey Y M Choi the rider of 9 Fortune Generation pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that near the 1250 metres he permitted him mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of 6 Qian Gua which had to be checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey Y M Choi’s license to ride in races was suspended for one racemeeting covering the meeting of Friday, 20 November 2020. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account his guilty plea, his riding record and the degree of interference. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
