	Introduction :	The Macau Jockey Club announces that Trainers Y Y CHOY and Y T LAM have joined stables effective immediately. Trainer Y Y CHOY will be the principal Trainer. In 1978 Alex Y Y Choy began his career in racing as a HK apprentice. After completing his apprenticeship Choy was then licensed as a freelance jockey for the Seasons of 1982/83 and 1983/84. He later rode in North America before transferring to Macau in 1990. Choy continued to ride in Macau until he was granted an assistant trainer\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s license in October 1993. In January 1996 when Irish trainer F Mills who was based in Macau, relinquished her trainer’s license, Choy was then granted an acting trainer’s license. Shortly after Choy received a full trainer’s license for the 1996/97 racing season. Veteran Y T Lam joined the Macau Trotting Club in 1979 and was a stable lad and trotting driver. After thoroughbred racing was introduced in Macau in 1989, Lam became a stable supervisor and worked along side trainers Jerry Ng and C S Suen. . In 1995 Lam was promoted to assistant trainer, attached to W L Leung. Later he was transferred to the late George Williams’ stable. He was granted a trainer’s license by MJC on 1 January, 2000. His training highlight was winning the qualifying race of Dubai Golden Shaheen with Active Bo Bo in 2001. As such he was the first local trainer to win an overseas race.
