RACE-3 SPRING TROPHY (GROUP 2) RATING O 1500 METRES (105)
1 Wonder Mossman (A Calder) - Was slow into stride. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 River Bobo (L Corrales) - At the 100 metres checked when 8 Krystrump shifted out. Stewards inquiry.
4 Wichita Linesman (R Maia) - At the home turn blundered. At the 300 metres had to steady off 1 Wonder Mossman which was tiring. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Krystrump (W Smith) - At the 100 metres shifted out resulting in 2 River Bobo being checked. At the final 50 metres shifted out under pressure.
9 Turquoise Power (K H Yu) - Was slow into stride.
11 Californiatreasure (C F Chan) - A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
13 Delighted Solution (J Pescuiso) - Became fractious in the barrier with Jockey J Pescuiso sustaining an injury to his right leg. Rider was then stood down by the Club’s Medical Officer, resulting in the Stewards ordering the withdrawal of 13 Delighted Solution at 3:13pm. Trainer M C Tam was informed that 13 Delighted Solution will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial due to its barrier manners.
14 Schilleraine (M Belli) - Resaddled at the barrier. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Jockey W Smith pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that at the 100 metres he permitted to his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of 2 River Bobo (L Corrales) which had to be checked and lost its rightfully running. Jockey W Smith was fined the sum of HK$12,000 in lieu of a one day racemeeting suspension. In arriving at the penalty the Stewards took into account his record, his guilty plea and the degree of the interference. He was informed of his Right of Appeal.
