Race Report

RACE-3 THE FRANKFURT RATING 60-30 (CLASS 3&4) 1800 METRES (174)

2 Benson (W L Ho) -Shortly after the start shifted in resulting in 4 Rose Gold Alloy having to check. At the 1300 metres shifted in resulting in 3 Luen On Treasure having to steadied. Jockey W L Ho was reprimanded for shifting in when not clear. At the 250 metres was disappointed for a run when 5 Yang Jiang Star shifted out when struck with the whip.
3 Luen On Treasure (A Calder) -At the 1300 metres had to be steadied and threw its head up when crowded by 2 Benson.
4 Rose Gold Alloy (W Smith) -Shortly after the start having to check. Stewards inquiry. A swab sample was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination revealed that it was lame in the left foreleg. Trainers C F Chan/K Seo were informed that 4 Rose Gold Alloy will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
5 Yang Jiang Star (R Maia) -At the 250 metres shifted out when struck with the whip.
7 Lucky And Wealthy (K H Yu) - A post race veterinary examination revealed that it was lame in the left foreleg. Trainer G Allendorf was informed that 7 Lucky And Wealthy will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
8 Double Hill Spirit (Apprentice C L Cheung) -At the 1300 metres had to be steadied off the heels of 3 Luen On Treasure and shifted out.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards established that shortly after the start, that 2 Benson (W L Ho) shifted in at a sharp angle and 4 Rose Gold Alloy (W Smith) anticipated the shift inwards from 2 Benson (W L Ho) and attempted to steady 4 Rose Gold Alloy (W Smith) but the gelding overreacted and threw its head up, became unbalanced and lost ground. The Stewards took no action other than to inform Jockey W L Ho that to use more care in future when shifting ground.
