RACE-6 THE QUARTEIRA RATING 45-0 (CLASS 4&5) 1800 METRES (285)
1 Golden Wealth (Apprentice K Leung) -Was slow into stride.
4 Superlative Choice (Y M Choi) -At the 1300 metres hung out with 7 Iced Jade having to steady. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Flying Team (L Corrales) -Approaching the winning post on the first occasion suffered interference and was checked and lost ground.
6 Thunder Bear (O Chavez) -Was slow into stride and shortly after was bumped by 11 Fortune Smiles which had been bumped by 8 Fort Idaho which had jumped awkwardly outwards. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion suffered interference.
7 Iced Jade (B Yamzon) -At the 1300 metres steadied when 4 Superlative Choice hung out.
8 Fort Idaho (R Maia) -At the start jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped 11 Fortune Smiles which in turn bumped 6 Thunder Bear. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion suffered interference.
9 Charity Group (S Nakano) -Approaching the winning post on the first occasion suffered interference . A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer M C Tam was informed that he would be required to present the gelding to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 5 August 2018.
10 Windsor Arch Three (M Wepner) -Approaching the winning post on the first occasion shifted in resulting in interference to 6 Thunder Bear, 11 Fortune Smiles, 8 Fort Idaho, 9 Charity Group and 5 Flying Team. Stewards inquiry. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K C Chong was informed that he would be required to present the gelding to the Veterinary Clinic for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 5 August 2018.
11 Fortune Smiles (F Henrique) -At the start was bumped by 8 Fort Idaho and then bumped 6 Thunder Bear. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion suffered interference.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into interference suffered by 6 Thunder Bear (O Chavez), 11 Fortune Smiles (F Henrique), 8 Fort Idaho (R Maia), 9 Charity Group (S Nakano) and 5 Flying Team (L Corrales) approaching the winning post on the first occasion as a result of 10 Windsor Arch Three (M Wepner) shifting in. Jockey M Wepner the rider of 10 Windsor Arch Three pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that approaching the winning post on the first occasion, he allowed his mount to shifted in when insufficiently clear resulting in 6 Thunder Bear being carried in on onto 11 Fortune Smiles which in turn was taken in onto 8 Fort Idaho was carried in on 9 Charity Group which in turn was taken in onto 5 Flying Team which was check and lost ground. Jockey M Wepner’s license to ride in races was suspended for a 1 racemeeting to cover the meeting on Saturday, 18 August 2018. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
