Race Report

RACE-3 THE CHEKIANG RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1500 METRES (3)

2 Farson (O Chavez) -Had a tendency to lay out under pressure over the concluding stages.
3 Lucky Winston (B Yamzon) -Jumped away awkwardly, shifted in slightly and bumped 4 Pearl Lucky.
4 Pearl Lucky (Y M Choi) -Jumped away awkwardly and was then bumped by 3 Lucky Winston which shifted in slightly. On entering the home straight had difficulty in obtaining clear running until passing the 200 metres.
5 Sixth Sense (L Corrales) -Was marginally slow to begin. The Stewards questioned Jockey L Corrales regarding his vigor in the early stages of the home straight. Jockey L Corrales stated that in the yielding to soft track conditions today his mount travelled only fairly throughout the race and on entering the home straight he was able to get to the outside of 7 River Control to obtain clear running. He added from the top of the straight in an attempt to get his mount to change its lead leg, he rode his mount hands and heels and applied the whip down the shoulder of the gelding. He added leaving the 200 metres he then used the whip in a forehand manner and 5 Sixth Sense responded briefly however was then one paced in the run to the finish. After considering all of the circumstances the Stewards noted his explanation however reminded Jockey L Corrales of his obligations to always ride his mounts in such a manner as to leave no room for query.
6 Pearl Win Win (V Tolentino) -Raced wide rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 River Control (W L Ho) -Bumped with 8 One Belt One Road on jumping away. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Raced wide without cover leaving the 600 metres.
8 One Belt One Road (H Lam) -Bumped with 7 River Control on jumping away.
