Race Report

RACE-4 THE CENTRAL RATING 70-50 (CLASS 2&3) 1500 METRES (64)

1 Lucky Winston (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Stood flat footed when the gates were released and lost considerable ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Ares Spear (L Corrales) -Shortly after the start got its head up and was then checked when tightened for room between 5 River Control which shifted in and 11 Joyful Bear which shifted out. Jockey R Maia (the rider of 5 River Control) and S Nakano (the rider of 11 Joyful Bear) were advised to make a greater effort to prevent their mounts shifting ground in future. Then commenced to race ungenerously. Raced three wide without cover in the back straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Golden Fans (W L Ho) -Near the 900 metres had to be steadied to avoid the heels of 3 Eclair Hunter which shifted in when not quite clear.
5 River Control (R Maia) -Near the 1400 metres shifted in when not fully clear of 7 Fortune Dragon. Jockey R Maia was reprimanded and notified he must be fully clear of runners when shifting grounds at all time.
7 Fortune Dragon (S Ladjadj) -Approaching near the 1400 metres had to be steadied to avoid the heels of 5 River Control which shifted in when not fully clear.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Prior to correct weight, Jockey W L Ho the rider of 4 Golden Fans (3rd placegetter) reviewed the Stewards’ patrol videos before deciding not to launch an objection. The Stewards were also of the opinion that there were no grounds for objection.
