Race Report

RACE-2 THE KUNMING RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1500 METRES (111)

3 Beat The Market (R Maia) -Bumped 4 Bring Me Power on jumping away. Raced fiercely in the middle stages. Raced wide with cover leaving the 900 metres and then leaving the 600 metres had a tendency to lay out. Rider was unable to offer any tangible explanation for today’s poor performance other than his mount wanted to hang out throughout the race. A post race veterinary examination failed reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K M Chin was informed that he would be required to present 3 Beat The Market to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 15 December 2019.
4 Bring Me Power (S Ladjadj) - Was slow to begin and was then bumped by 3 Beat The Market. A post race veterinary examination failed reveal any significant abnormality.
6 River Control (C F Chan) -Leaving the 1200 metres raced very fiercely and refused to settle. Thereafter continued to race fiercely until approaching the 900 metres. Raced wide without cover leaving the 900 metres. Rider reported that his mount had a tendency to over race during the early and middle stages and he had difficulty in getting his mount to settle. He added approaching the 900 metres it was not his intention to shift wider on the track, however his mount continued to race fiercely when awkwardly placed on the heels of 10 One More Again and had to be shifted wider on the track to avoid that runner’s heels. The Stewards noted his explanation.
7 Royal Master (F Henrique) -Raced wide with cover throughout.
8 Fortune Flyer (D Barros) -Was slow to begin. Approaching the 400 metres had to be steadied when the gelding improved into a run to the inside of 12 Wealthy Emperor where there was insufficient room.
9 Ready Fire (B Yamzon) - Near the 500 metres was brushed by 7 Royal Master which shifted in slightly.
12 Wealthy Emperor (S Nanako) - Shortly after the start shifted out and was then buffeted between 1 Bring Me Glory and 6 River Control which shifted in. Rider reported that on entering the home straight he had no clear run in front him and as a result he had to wait for a run to eventuate. He added near the 200 metres a run opened between 11 Eclair Mirage and 2 Fortune Generation and he was then able to place his mount under pressure, where 12 Wealthy Emperor finished the race off strongly. The Stewards noted his explanation.
