Race Report

RACE-7 THE YICHANG (DIV.2) RATING 60-40 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (128)

1 Wittymaster (J B Hamel)-Leaving the 100 metres was brushed by 7 Rivalry which was taken out slightly by 12 Tuhao Power which shifted out slightly under pressure.
2 Fortune Flyer (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Leaving the 500 metres had to be checked.
3 River God Choi (T Appie)-Was tightened for room on jumping away by 8 Steel Alloy which was taken out by 12 Tuhao Power which shifted out slightly when the rider lost the use of his right rein for a short distance.
4 Felizmaster (F Henrique)-Leaving the 600 metres raced up onto the heels of 6 Gem Steed, had to be steadied and shifted wider on the track.
5 Mission Vision (K H Yu)- Stood flat footed as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer Pat Lee will be informed that a warning is being placed against 5 Mission Vision for its barrier manners. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Gem Steed (H Lam)-Raced wide without cover throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Rivalry (S Nakano)-On entering the home straight was held up when attempting a run between 10 Wealthy East and 12 Tuhao Power where there was insufficient room, was then obliged to shift out around the heels of 12 Tuhao Power to obtain clear running leaving the 200 metres.
8 Steel Alloy (S Ladjadj)-Raced fiercely in the middle stages.
9 Kelvin's Choice (L Corrales)-Raced fiercely in the middle stages.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident leaving the 500 metres whereby 2 Fortune Flyer was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 4 Felizmaster (F Henrique), 2 Fortune Flyer (Apprentice C L Cheung), 8 Steel Alloy (S Ladjadj) and 6 Gem Steed (H Lam). Jockey F Henrique pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that leaving the 500 metres he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in when insufficiently clear of 8 Steel Alloy which in turn was taken in onto 2 Fortune Flyer which had to be checked. Jockey F Henrique’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 2 racemeetings covering the meetings of 20 and 21 March 2020. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into took into account his guilty plea, the degree of interference and his good riding record in that this was his first careless riding offence this season. He was advised of his Right of Appeal.
