Race Report

RACE-1 THE DELHI RATING 40-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1350 METRES (163)

1 Crown Of Gold (L Corrales) -Proved difficult to proceed to the barriers. The Stewards informed Trainer J Lau that a warning had been placed against 1 Crown Of Gold with regards to its barrier manners. On arriving at the barriers, 1 Crown Of Gold reared and fell to the ground. Acting on veterinary advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of 1 Crown Of Gold at 7:06PM. Trainer J Lau was informed that 1 Crown Of Gold will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary clearance is produced.
2 Diamond Moonlight (D Barros) -Jumped away awkwardly and hung out for a short distance after the start. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. Hung out rounding the first turn. Rider reported that his mount had a tendency to race fiercely and greenly throughout and at times proved difficult to control.
3 Hugo And Barry (C L Cheung) -Shortly after the start was inconvenienced by 8 Epinart which was taken in by 6 Superb Shooter which hung in despite the efforts of its rider. The Stewards issued a warning on 6 Superb Shooter for its racing manners. A post race veterinary examination revealed that 3 Hugo And Barry was lame in the right foreleg. Trainer K M Chin was informed the gelding will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until a veterinary clearance is produced.
4 Wealthy Sun (Y M Choi) -Was slow into stride and shortly after the start bumped 9 Full Score.
5 Mr Fortune (F Henrique) -Was slow to begin and then had to be eased away from the heels of 10 Mr Half Lamma.
6 Superb Shooter (B Yamzon) -Shortly after the start hung in despite the efforts of its rider taking 8 Epinart in onto 3 Hugo And Barry which was inconvenienced. Had a tendency to lay in in the home straight. Trainer K H Leong was informed that a warning had been placed on the gelding for its racing manners.
7 Lucky Hugo (K H Yu) -Rounding the home turn shifted out under pressure and had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 2 Diamond Moonlight which shifted in slightly. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise all riders to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
8 Epinart (S Ladjadj) -Raced wide without cover leaving the 500 metres.
9 Full Score (S Nakano) -Jumped away awkwardly and shortly after the start was bumped by 4 Wealthy Sun. Rounding the home turn had to be eased around the heels of 2 Diamond Moonlight to obtain clear running. Thereafter had a tendency to hang in under pressure in the straight and had to be corrected by its rider on a number of occasions. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards informed Trainer K H Leong that a warning had been placed on 9 Full Score for its racing manners.
10 Mr Half Lamma (T Appie) -Had a tendency to lay in down the back straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
