RACE-3 THE HYDERABAD RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1200 METRES (171)

1 To's Family (H Lam) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Gem Glory(S Ladjadj) -Jumped away awkwardly
5 Rock To Road (B Yamzon) -Jumped away awkwardly. Near the 800 metres when racing ungenerously had to be checked from the heels of 9 You Are The Best which when also racing ungenerously, shifted in. 11 Dutch Shell which was following was checked in consequence. After considering all of the evidence, in particular the evidence provided by Jockey B Yamzon in that his mount’s racing manners had a significant bearing on the incident, the Stewards took no further action, nevertheless severely reprimanded Jockey K H Yu the rider of 9 You Are The Best and advised him that in similar circumstances in future he would be expected to make a greater effort to prevent his mount from shifting ground when insufficiently clear of runners. Held up rounding the home turn.
7 Golden Thumb (C L Cheung) - Jumped away awkwardly. Near the 1150 metres blundered. Leaving the 400 metres commenced to hang out and made the home turn wide.
8 Luen On Poseidon (M Tanaka) -On entering the home straight blundered when racing in restricted room between 6 The Moon's Back which shifted out slightly and 10 Me Whee. A short distance later was steadied when racing in restricted room between 10 Me Whee and 6 The Moon's Back which shifted out. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards severely reprimanded Jockey T Appie the rider of 6 The Moon's Back and advised him that in similar circumstances he would be expected to ensure he is sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground.
9 You Are The Best (K H Yu) -Shifted in at the start and bumped 11 Dutch Shell. Over the concluding stages had difficulty obtaining clear running and had to be eased.
10 Me Whee (S Nakano) -The Stewards questioned Jockey S Nakano regarding his ride in the early stages of the race. Jockey S Nakano stated that pre race he was instructed that as the horse did not finish the race off when leading at its most recent start, in today’s race if the horse jumps well, he is to to try and obtain a position behind the speed with cover or alternatively if caught racing wide to try and come back and obtain a position closer to the running rail. He added 10 Me Whee jumped better than he had anticipated and to comply with his instructions, he attempted to search for a position with cover behind the speed. He added as a number of runners had improved to his inside, he was caught racing wide without cover and had no alternative but to maintain that position where his mount was traveling comfortably. He further added that in hindsight it may have been more beneficial to ride forward in the early stages and take advantage of the gelding’s good jump. The Stewards noted his explanation.
11 Dutch Shell (D Barros) - Jumped away awkwardly and was then bumped by 9 You Are The Best which shifted in.
12 Mission Gdragon (Y M Choi) -Held up rounding the home turn and in the home straight had difficulty securing clear running.
