Race Report

RACE-3 SPRING TROPHY (GROUP 2) OPEN 1500 METRES (177)

2 Kelowna Star (D Barros)-Jumped away awkwardly. Leaving the 500 metres was taken wider on the track by 4 Lover Paradise which shifted out around the heels of 1 Pearl Green to improve.
3 Sheng Li Superstar (L Corrales)-Over the concluding stages was brushed by 1 Pearl Green which had a tendency to lay in under pressure.
4 Lover Paradise (K H Yu)-Raced fiercely with its head up in the early and middle stages. Rider report that due to the slow tempo in the early and middle stages, his mount raced ungenerously and in his opinion this contributed to 4 Lover Paradise tiring in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Bring Me Speed (S Nakano)-Was brushed by 3 Sheng Li Superstar on jumping away. Approaching the 900 metres when the pace of the race slowed had to be steadied away from the heels of 4 Lover Paradise. Was held up rounding the home turn and was unable to establish clear running until leaving the 200 metres.
6 Krystrump (S Ladjadj)-Race fiercely in the early stages and leaving the 1100 metres shifted out. Approaching the 1000 metres when the pace of the race slowed had to be steadied when placed in restricted room between 2 Kelowna Star and 8 Pearl Lucky which had improved to the inside of 6 Krystrump. 6 Krystrump then continued to over race for some distance thereafter and leaving the 900 metres shifted out and bumped 7 Big Alloy. Leaving the 300 metres was disappointed for a run between 2 Kelowna Star and 4 Lover Paradise and was obliged to shift out around the heels of 2 Kelowna Star to establish clear running. Leaving the 200 metres had a tendency to shift out under pressure. Jockey S Ladjadj was reminded of his obligations to always ride his mounts out fully to the finish. In determining not to issue a more severe penalty, the Stewards were satisfied it had no bearing on the overall placings of the race.
7 Big Alloy (M Tanaka)-Leaving the 900 metres was taken wider on the track when bumped by 6 Krystrump which shifted out when over racing.
8 Pearl Lucky (Y M Choi)-Was slow to begin.
