Race Report

RACE-5 THE QUEZON CITY RATING 50-20 (CLASS 4&5) 1800 METRES (203)

1 Joyful Bear (T Appie) -On the entering the home straight had some difficulty obtaining clear running until leaving the 200 metres. Then leaving the 150 metres was inclined to hang out under pressure and proved difficult to ride out to the finish.
3 So Yummy (K H Yu) -Approaching the 1400 metres commenced to race fiercely and proved difficult to settle.
4 Franklin Lane (J B Hamel) -Raced wide rounding the home turn.
5 Wealthy Emperor (S Nakano) -Raced wide without cover throughout. In the home straight had a tendency to hang in under pressure and had to be corrected by its rider on a number of occasions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer S Chow was informed to present 5 Wealthy Emperor to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 19 April 2020.
6 River God Choi (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Near the 350 metres was brushed by 8 Satono Eternal which shifted out to improve.
7 Victory Supreme (M Tanaka) - In the early stages of the home straight was held up and near the 200 metres was disappointed for a run to the inside of 9 Qipao Queen, brushed the running rail and had to be steadied. After considering all of the circumstances Jockey M Tanaka was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future and to ensure there is sufficient room when attempting to obtain clear running.
8 Satono Eternal (L Corrales) -Jumped away awkwardly. On entering the home straight had some difficulty obtaining clear running until leaving the 200 metres. Near the 150 metres was disappointed for a run between 3 So Yummy which shifted in slightly and 5 Wealthy Emperor which shifted out after being corrected by its rider when it was inclined to hang in.
9 Qipao Queen (Y M Choi) -Near the 1500 metres was brushed by 2 Grateful Favors which shifted in.
10 Stallion Treasure (F Henrique) -Stood flat footed as the start was effected and lost ground. Trainer G Allendorf was informed that a warning had been placed against 10 Stallion Treasure for its barrier manners. Rider reported that his mount was slow to begin and throughout the race was never comfortable in its action. As such he elected to ease his mount out of the race in the home straight. He further added that in his opinion, 10 Stallion Treasure did not appreciate today’s good to firm going. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer G Allendorf was informed to present 10 Stallion Treasure to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 19 April 2020 and in addition will not be permitted to race for 11 days until such time that the gelding has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial.
11 Mission Dragon (H Lam) -Jumped away awkwardly. Leaving the 200 metres was bumped by 2 Grateful Favors which was taken in by 5 Wealthy Emperor which hung in under pressure before being corrected by its rider.
