RACE-2 THE FORTALEZA RATING 40-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1800 METRES (237)

1 Association Eighty (M Tanaka) -Tightened for room on jumping way between 10 Thunder Bear which shifted in and 4 One From Many which after initially shifting out was taken out by 7 Luen On Steed which shifted out. Near the 1700 metres had to be steadied away from the heels of 11 Tokai Shinsei which shifted in and away from 5 Mission Dragon which was shifting in and 7 Luen On Steed which shifted out after initially being ridden along with the whip. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards issued both Jockeys W L Ho the rider of 5 Mission Dragon and F Henrique the rider of 7 Luen On Steed with a severe reprimand for permitting their mounts to shift ground and they were advised should they continue to ride in such a manner, further action may be taken. Leaving the 600 metres raced up onto the heels of 8 Taolu Expert and had to be steadied.
2 Satono Eternal (L Corrales) -A post race swab was taken for analysis. Rider reported that 2 Satono Eternal failed to handle today’s heavy track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Delighted Solution (J B Hamel) -A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer M C Tam was informed that the standard stand down period applies and before being permitted to race again, 3 Delighted Solution will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary certificate must be produced.
5 Mission Dragon (W L Ho) -Leaving the 200 metres had to be steadied and brushed the running rail when momentarily tightened for room by 12 River Rich which shifted in under pressure before being corrected by its rider. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards issued Jockey T Appie the rider of 12 River Rich with a severe reprimand and was further advised that in future he would be expected to stop riding and correct his mount sooner than he did on this occasion. Rider reported that 5 Mission Dragon did not handle today’s heavy track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Victory Achiever (D Barros) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Taolu Expert (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Leaving the winning post on the first occasion momentarily raced in restricted room and had to be steadied away from the heels of 7 Luen On Steed which was taken in by 11 Tokai Shinsei which shifted in and away from 12 River Rich which after shifting to a position tight to the outside of 11 Tokai Shinsei, was then corrected by its rider. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards issued Jockey T Appie the rider of 12 River Rich with a severe reprimand. Was held up rounding the home turn.
10 Thunder Bear (B Yamzon) -Leaving the 1700 metres was eased away from the heels of 11 Tokai Shinsei which shifted in and away from 5 Mission Dragon which was shifting in. Leaving the 250 metres was inclined to lay in under pressure.
11 Tokai Shinsei (W H Lao) -Raced wide without cover for the majority.
12 River Rich (T Appie) -Was inclined to shift in under pressure in the home straight.
