Race Report

RACE-2 THE DAFFODIL RATING 45-20 (CLASS 4&5) 1050 METRES (261)

1 Take The Cake (W H Lao) -Leaving the 800 metres momentarily raced in restricted room between 5 Blue Glory which shifted out slightly and 2 Diamond Moonlight which was taken in slightly by 8 Hostwin Poseidon which was inclined to lay in. For some distance thereafter was inclined to hang in and away from 2 Diamond Moonlight resulting in 5 Blue Glory being hampered when taken inwards which in turn resulted in 3 Circuit Guy and 6 Cheerful Fish having to be steadied. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards informed Trainer C F Chan that a warning had been placed against 1 Take The Cake for its racing manners. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Diamond Moonlight (W L Ho) -Hung out for a short distance after the start.
3 Circuit Guy (F Henrique) -Near the 700 metres had to be steadied. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
4 Victory Supreme (S Ladjadj) -Jumped away awkwardly.
5 Blue Glory (M Tanaka) -Leaving the 800 metres was hampered when taken inwards by 1 Take The Cake which hung in and away from 2 Diamond Moonlight. Over the final 150 metres was inclined to lay in under pressure.
6 Cheerful Fish (D Barros) -Jumped outwards at the start and made contact with 3 Circuit Guy. Near the 700 metres had to be steadied. On entering the home straight was disappointed for a run between 3 Circuit Guy and 1 Take The Cake and as a result was obliged to shift out to obtain clear running. A post race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was lame in the right foreleg. Trainers K C Tse/K S Ho were informed that 6 Cheerful Fish will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that a veterinary certificate is produced.
9 Ventures Elite (S Nakano) -Raced wide rounding the home turn. Leaving the 300 metres had a tendency to lay in under pressure.
