Race Report

RACE-1 THE EVORA RATING 35-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1500 METRES (290)

1 Star Of City Gold (K H Yu) -Approaching the 400 metres improved onto the heels of 8 Tokai Shinsei and had to be steadied.
2 General Fu Hao (F Henrique) -Was marginally slow to begin and was then buffeted between 12 Full Of Luck which was inclined to hang in and 10 Luen On Steed which shifted out. Leaving the 1400 metres raced fiercely on the heels of 8 Tokai Shinsei and had to be steadied.
3 Master Paradise (L Corrales) -Leaving the 200 metres was inclined to shift out under pressure. Rider reported from the wide draw he had to make use of 3 Master Paradise in the early stages to obtain the lead position. He added his mount travelled well until near the 500 metres where it was then under pressure when joined by 5 Honey Biscuit and in the home straight responded briefly before tiring over the final 200 metres. He further added in his opinion that the work his mount had to do in the early stages to obtain the lead contributed to its seemingly disappointing performance.
4 Chase Wind (W H Lao) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Honey Biscuit (D Barros) -Raced wide without cover throughout. Approaching the 200 metres rider accidently dropped his whip.
6 Pearl Bobo (M Tanaka) -Leaving the 1300 metres blundered. Was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. Over the concluding stages was eased when momentarily racing in restricted room between 10 Luen On Steed which shifted in under pressure and 3 Master Paradise which shifted out when weakening.
7 Mission Dragon (W L Ho) -Jumped away awkwardly. Over the concluding stages was inclined to shift out under pressure and had to be corrected by its rider.
8 Tokai Shinsei (T Appie) -Over the concluding stages was obliged to alter course outwards away from the heels of 5 Honey Biscuit which shifted out slightly under pressure.
9 Taolu Expert (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Leaving the 800 metres was hampered when taken wider on the track by 2 General Fu Hao. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Luen On Steed (S Nakano) -Was marginally slow to begin. Leaving the 1000 metres when racing fiercely on the heels of 1 Star Of City Gold shifted in and made contact with the running rail and had to be steadied. Leaving the 800 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 12 Full Of Luck which blundered and shifted in slightly when inclined to hang in. As a result was then obliged to shift out taking 2 General Fu Hao out onto 9 Taolu Expert which was hampered when taken wider on the track. Over the concluding stages was inclined to shift in under pressure and had to be corrected by its rider.
11 Thunder Bear (B Yamzon) -Was marginally slow to begin. Was held up rounding the home turn. Leaving the 100 metres shifted in under pressure and made contact with the running rail resulting in Jockey B Yamzon becoming unbalanced in the saddle for a short distance. Near the 50 metres momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of 3 Master Paradise which was inclined to shift in under pressure before being corrected by its rider. Jockey L Corrales the rider of 3 Master Paradise was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.
12 Full Of Luck (Y M Choi) -Leaving the 800 metres blundered when inclined to hang in. Near the 250 was momentarily eased away from the heels of 10 Luen On Steed which shifted out to improve. Jockey S Nakano the rider of 10 Luen On Steed was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future. Leaving the 200 metres was inclined to hang in under pressure.
