Race Report

RACE-1 THE SCARBOROUGH DIV.2 RATING 35-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1200 METRES (332)

1 Superb Shooter (L Corrales) -Leaving the 800 metres laid in slightly and brushed the running rail and become unbalanced. 3 Sport General which was following was steadied in consequence.
3 Sport General (K H Yu) -Shifted out on jumping away and brushed 1 Superb Shooter and was then inclined to shift in and away from that runner and had to be corrected by its rider. Leaving the 800 metres was steadied.
4 Pride Mountain (M Tanaka) -After being fractious in the barriers, the gelding was taken out of its stall, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to race by the Veterinary Surgeon. Trainer W Smith was informed that a warning had been placed on 4 Pride Mountain with regards to its barrier manners. Shortly after the start hung out.
5 Fly Dragon (S Nakano) -Rider reported that he rode his mount hard in the early stages to take up a forward position, however the gelding was reluctant to stride out in the going and was unable to muster sufficient speed to cross the runners to his inside. He added as he was caught racing wide, he elected to come back and take up a position on the running rail however 5 Fly Dragon never traveled comfortably and in his opinion did not handle today’s track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Fully Realised (T Appie) -Raced fiercely in the early stages. Had a tendency to lay out rounding the home turn and under pressure in the home straight.
