Race Report

RACE-3 MACAU CLASSIC CUP OPEN (GROUP 3) 1350 METRES (340)

1 Fasuba (Apprentice C L Cheung) -Near the 150 metres shifted out under pressure and then had to be eased away from the heels of 9 Destiny's Choice which at the same time shifted in. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards advised both Apprentice C L Cheung the rider of 1 Fasuba and Jockey S Ladjadj the rider of 9 Destiny's Choice to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future. Rider reported that his mount traveled well throughout, however when placed under pressure was one paced. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Sheng Li Superstar (L Corrales) -Raced wide rounding the home turn.
3 Hostwin Meraki (W L Ho) -Brushed by 5 Victory Megastar on jumping away. Rounding the first turn raced ungenerously and was inclined to lay out.
4 Fortune Treasure (S Nakano) -On entering the home straight was shifted in across the heels of 1 Fasuba to obtain clear running.
5 Victory Megastar (K H Yu) -Brushed with 3 Hostwin Meraki on jumping away. Leaving the 100 metres had to be shifted out across the heels of 2 Sheng Li Superstar to obtain clear running.
6 Striking Achiever (H Lam) -Was resaddled behind the barriers.
7 Smart Win (F Henrique) -Was slow to begin.
8 Hostwin Shadow (T Appie) -Rider reported that he was in a favorable position in the early stages, however on entering the back straight when racing in between runners his mount dropped the bit and was immediately under pressure to maintain its position. He added from that point on his mount never responded to his riding and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer N Moore was informed that he would be required to present 8 Hostwin Shadow to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Monday, 10 August 2020. In addition, 8 Hostwin Shadow which was beaten in excess of 43 lengths will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial.
9 Destiny's Choice (S Ladjadj) -Raced wide without cover throughout.
