Race Report

RACE-5 THE LEVERKUSEN RATING 45-20 (CLASS 4&5) 1350 METRES (111)

1 Ashkari (L Corrales) -Knuckled on jumping away and shortly after was bumped by 9 Pride Mountain which shifted in.
2 Amazing Happy (W L Ho) -Knuckled on jumping away.
3 Trophy Cabinet (S Nakano) -Was tightened for room shortly after the start between 7 Highspot which shifted in and 2 Amazing Happy which shifted out slightly after knuckling on jumping away. Near the 1200 metres had to be steadied when tightened for room between 9 Pride Mountain which shifted out slightly and 7 Highspot which shifted in whilst being ridden along. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards issued Jockey B Yamzon the rider of 7 Highspot with a severe reprimand and he was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount. When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of 3 Trophy Cabinet, Trainer K H Leong stated that in his opinion the drop in class of tonight’s race to that of its most recent starts had a bearing on its improved performance.
4 Ka Hero (F Henrique) -Was marginally slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
5 Lucky Hugo (K H Yu) -Jumped away awkwardly and shortly after made contact with 6 Grateful Favors.
6 Grateful Favors (S Ladjadj) -On jumping away was contacted by 5 Lucky Hugo. Raced wide without cover throughout.
7 Highspot (B Yamzon) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Powerful Right (C F Chan) -Near the 1200 metres raced ungenerously for some distance and near the 1100 metres had to be eased when awkwardly placed close to the heels of 5 Lucky Hugo which shifted in slightly. Was held up rounding the home turn and near the 300 metres had to be steadied away from the heels of 2 Amazing Happy which shifted out under pressure. Jockey W L Ho the rider of 2 Amazing Happy was issued with a severe reprimand. Thereafter near the 250 metres was obliged to shift in to obtain clear running and in doing so bumped with 10 Pride Sprint which became unbalanced. Jockey C F Chan the rider of 8 Powerful Right was issued with a severe reprimand.
10 Pride Sprint (H Lam) -Near the 250 metres became unbalanced when bumped by 8 Powerful Right which shifted in.
