Race Report

RACE-2 THE FUZHOU RATING 45-20 (CLASS 4&5) 1500 METRES (181)

1 Cambodia Star (W L Ho) -Leaving the 1300 metres was checked. Leaving the 800 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 10 Lucky Star. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Dutch Shell (C L Cheung) -Was slow to begin.
7 Yings Fans (B Yamzon) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
8 Eclair Boom (M Tanaka) -Raced wide without cover from the 600 metres.
9 Master Starkiller (T Appie) -A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
10 Lucky Star (D Barros) -Approaching the 1200 metres was steadied. Jockey D Barros was reminded of his obligation to ride all his mounts out to the finish of the race whenever possible. In determining not to issue a penalty, the Stewards were satisfied that it had no bearing on the overall placings of the race.
11 Luen On Success (Y M Choi) -Near the 300 metres momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of 9 Master Starkiller which shifted in under pressure.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident leaving the 1300 metres where 1 Cambodia Star was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 1 Cambodia Star (W L Ho), 4 Hostwin Jupiter (L Corrales), 7 Yings Fans (B Yamzon), 9 Master Starkiller (T Appie), 10 Lucky Star (D Barros) and 11 Luen On Success (Y M Choi). It was established that leaving the 1300 metres 1 Cambodia Star had to be checked when tightened for room by 10 Lucky Star which was taken in by 4 Hostwin Jupiter which shifted in and away from 11 Luen On Success which in turn shifted in abruptly after shifting out slightly and bumping with 7 Yings Fans which at the same time shifted in slightly when laying in and away from 9 Master Starkiller which in turn shifted in slightly when inclined to lay in. After considering all of the circumstances, as the Stewards could not portion blame to any one rider, they deemed this a racing incident and took no further action other than to advise all riders to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.

Evidence was taken from the riders of 4 Hostwin Jupiter (L Corrales), 7 Yings Fans (B Yamzon), 9 Master Starkiller (T Appie), 10 Lucky Star (D Barros) and 11 Luen On Success (Y M Choi). It was established that approaching the 1200 metres 10 Lucky Star when racing ungenerously overreacted when being steadied when racing tight to the inside of 4 Hostwin Jupiter which in turn was racing tight to the inside of 11 Luen On Success which in turn was also racing tight to the inside of 7 Yings Fans which continued to lay in and away from 9 Master Starkiller. After considering all of the circumstances, as the Stewards could not portion blame to any one rider, they deemed this a racing incident and took no further action other than to advise all riders to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.
