Race Report

RACE-3 THE BAO TOU RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1200 METRES (182)

1 Luen On Dance Kid (D Barros) -Was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon behind the barriers at the request of the rider and passed fit to race.
2 Luen On Poseidon (L Corrales) -Brushed with 10 Partners' Fortune on jumping away.
3 Oneofthegreats (B Yamzon) -Leaving the 300 metres had its hindquarters bumped by 4 Loxwood which shifted in.
4 Loxwood (C L Cheung) -Rounding the home turn shifted out around the heels of 3 Oneofthegreats to improve and in doing so brushed 6 Electroplate Alloy. On entering the home straight was buffeted between 3 Oneofthegreats and 6 Electroplate Alloy. Then leaving the 300 metres when racing tight to the inside of 6 Electroplate Alloy shifted in and made contact with the hindquarters of 3 Oneofthegreats and was further buffeted between 3 Oneofthegreats and 6 Electroplate Alloy. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards deemed this a racing incident, however they nevertheless informed all riders to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.
5 Eclair Sunshine (W H Lao) -Was slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Electroplate Alloy (K H Yu) -Prior to the race Trainer M C Tam advised the Stewards that he would be instructing Jockey K H Yu from the wide draw to go back at the start and obtain a position closer to the running rail should circumstances permit. Rounding the home turn was brushed by 4 Loxwood which shifted out around the heels of 3 Oneofthegreats to improve. Rider stated that after jumping well, he found himself in front shortly after the start and believed it would be in the best interest to allow his mount to stride forward as opposed to restraining 6 Electroplate Alloy to a rearward position as per his instructions, settling 3rd in the early stages.
9 Grexit (Y M Choi) -For some distance leaving the 800 metres when the pace of the race slowed, had to be steadied when racing fiercely on the heels of 6 Electroplate Alloy.
10 Partners' Fortune (W L Ho) -Brushed with 2 Luen On Poseidon on jumping away.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Following the running of the race, the “Enquiry” sign was semaphored to allow the Stewards to review the patrol films of the home straight where 6 Electroplate Alloy (K H Yu) and 4 Loxwood (C L Cheung) raced tight. After reviewing all the available patrol films, the Stewards were satisfied that there were no grounds for an objection and correct weight was declared on the Judge’s placings.
