Race Report

RACE-3 THE HAMILTON RATING 70+ (CLASS 1&2) 1500 METRES (228)

1 Sheng Li Superstar (L Corrales) -Brushed with 12 Luen On Dance Kid on jumping away. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
2 Kelowna Star (T Appie) -Jumped away awkwardly. Near the 500 metres raced up onto the heels of 12 Luen On Dance Kid and had to be steadied.
3 Lover Paradise (M Tanaka) -Near the 150 metres was eased when momentarily tightened for room between 10 Electroplate Alloy which shifted out whilst being ridden along and 4 Pearl Green which when being ridden along was inclined to shift in and away from 8 Top Mountainlegend which had shifted in slightly before being corrected by its rider. After the considering all the circumstances, the Stewards severely reprimanded both Jockeys B Yamzon the rider of 4 Pearl Green and K H Yu the rider 10 Electroplate Alloy and they were both advised that that under similar circumstances they would be expected to stop riding and straighten their mounts.
4 Pearl Green (B Yamzon) -Raced fiercely in the early stages. Near the 700 metres was taken wider on the track by 11 Sacred Magnate which shifted out after improving onto the heels of 10 Electroplate Alloy. Thereafter raced wide without cover.
5 Hostwin Saturn (Y M Choi) -Dislodged rider on the way to the barriers, was captured, underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers and passed fit to race. Jockey Y M Choi was subsequently examined by the Club’s Medical Officer and passed fit to continue riding. Stood flat footed as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer N Moore was informed that in that in view of the barrier manners of 5 Hostwin Saturn, it will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial. Near the 100 metres was eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of 11 Sacred Magnate which had shifted out to improve.
7 Number Zero (F Henrique) -Was slow into stride. Rider reported that his mount never travelled comfortably throughout and in his opinion may not have been suited by today’s good track. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer K S Wong was informed that he would be required to present 7 Number Zero to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 25 April 2021.
10 Electroplate Alloy (K H Yu) -Raced fiercely in the early stages and leaving the 900 metres blundered. Rounding the home turn was held up and was unable to establish clear running until near the 200 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
11 Sacred Magnate (C F Chan) - Was held up rounding the home turn and in the home straight was unable to establish clear running until near the 150 metres where it was shifted to the outside of 4 Pearl Green. Rider reported that from the 600 metres when the pace of the race had slowed, he had attempted to improve his position wider on the track, however as 4 Pearl Green was positioned tight to his outside, he was unable to shift that runner outwards in order to improve. He further added that rounding the home turn he was held up and in the home straight had no opportunity to establish clear running until near the 150 metres where he was able to shift 11 Sacred Magnate to the outside of 4 Pearl Green, where 11 Sacred Magnate then finished the race of strongly. The Stewards noted his explanation.
12 Luen On Dance Kid (S Nakano) -Brushed with 1 Sheng Li Superstar on jumping away.
