Race Report

RACE-5 THE DELHI RATING 40-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1510 METRES (236)

1 Tokai Shinsei (K H Yu) -Near the 100 metres had to be checked when tightened for room between 9 Rayson Warrior which shifted in before being corrected by its rider and 3 Superlative Choice which shifted out. After considering all of the circumstances, the Stewards issued Jockey C L Cheung the rider of 3 Superlative Choice with a severe reprimand and he was advised that he would be expected to be sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground in future. In addition, the Stewards advised Jockey F Henrique the rider of 9 Rayson Warrior to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
2 Copartners Glory (B Yamzon) -Proved difficult to proceed to the barriers. Trainer K M Chin was informed that in view of the pre race manners, 2 Copartners Glory will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial.
3 Superlative Choice (C L Cheung) -For some distance approaching the winning post on the first occasion was inclined to lay in.
5 Shooting To Pins (L Corrales) -Rider reported his mount travelled well throughout, however when the pace of the race quickened near the 500 metres 5 Shooting To Pins was left flat footed and failed to finish its race off as expected. He further added that in his opinion and as reported to the trainer, 5 Shooting To Pins may be better suited to races over a shorter distance. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Grateful Favors (W H Lao) -Raced wide without cover for the majority.
8 Golden Bullseye (M Tanaka) -Jumped away awkwardly. Near the 400 metres was inclined to lay out when weakening and had to be steadied away from the heels of 9 Rayson Warrior which at the same time shifted in away from the whip whilst being ridden along. After considering all of the circumstances, Jockey F Henrique the rider of 9 Rayson Warrior was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Rayson Warrior (F Henrique) -For some distance near the 1100 metres raced fiercely.
11 Black Pink (T Appie) -Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
Following the running of the race, the “Enquiry” sign was semaphored to afford the Stewards an opportunity to review the patrol films of the home straight to ascertain whether 1 Tokai Shinsei (K H Yu) which was placed 4th by the Judge had grounds for an objection. At the same time both Jockey K H Yu and Mr. K S Wong the trainer of 1 Tokai Shinsei made application to review the patrol films. After reviewing the patrol films, they both elected not to proceed with an objection and the Stewards was also satisfied, they then ordered correct weight on the Judge’s placings.
