Race Report

RACE-5 THE TSING YI RATING 40-0 (CLASS 5&6) 1050 METRES (312)

1 Amazing Happy (L Corrales) -For a short distance after the start was inclined to lay out. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Powerful Right (C F Chan) -Checked leaving the 600 metres.
4 Harvest Day (K H Yu) -Acting on veterinary advice that the gelding was suffering from cellulitis in the right foreleg, the Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 7:29pm. Trainer M C Tam was informed that 4 Harvest Day will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that a veterinary certificate is produced
5 Sheng Li Star (C L Cheung) -Bumped with 8 One Belt One Road on jumping away. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
6 Tak Fai Of Pins (W H Lao) -Shortly after the start had to be eased when tightened for room between 8 One Belt One Road which shifted in slightly and 10 River Prosperity which was taken out by 1 Amazing Happy which shifted out when inclined to lay out. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
8 One Belt One Road (D Barros) -Bumped with 5 Sheng Li Star on jumping away
9 Shooting To Pins (S Nakano) -Was slow to begin and was then slow into stride. Trainer W H Tse was informed that a warning had been placed on 9 Shooting To Pins in relation to its racing manners.
10 River Prosperity (Y M Choi) -On entering the home straight when inclined to lay in had to be corrected outwards when awkwardly placed on the heels of 5 Sheng Li Star.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards inquired into an incident leaving the 600 metres where 3 Powerful Right was checked. Evidence was taken from the riders of 3 Powerful Right (C F Chan) and 10 River Prosperity (Y M Choi). Jockey Y M the rider of 10 River Prosperity pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MJC Rule 132 (i) in that leaving the 600 metres, he permitted his mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of 3 Powerful Right which had to be checked. Jockey Y M Choi was issued a monetary fine of HK$3,000 in lieu of a one racemeeting suspension. In arriving at penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey Y M Choi’s guilty plea, his disciplinary record, the degree of interference and all mitigating factors. He was advised of his right of Appeal.
