Race Report

RACE-3 THE ALMEIDA RIBEIRO RATING 70-45 (CLASS 3) 1050 METRES (342)

2 You Are The Best (M Tanaka) -Rounding the home turn when inclined to lay in, shifted in slightly and had to be eased away from the heels of 8 Stadium which when inclined to lay out, shifted out slightly when awkwardly placed on the heels of 1 Casino Mok. As the Stewards could not portion blame to any one rider, no further action was taken.
4 Diamond Moonlight (C L Cheung) -Was marginally slow to begin.
5 Sheng Tong Star (D Barros) -Was slow to begin.
6 Lucky Gold (B Yamzon) -Underwent a veterinary examination at the request of Jockey B Yamzon. Acting on veterinary advice that 6 Lucky Gold was found to be lame in the left foreleg, the Stewards ordered its withdrawal at 8:15pm. Trainer J Lau was informed that 6 Lucky Gold will not be permitted to race for 11 days and until such time that a veterinary certificate is produced.
7 Sheng Tong Glory (W H Lao) -Was marginally slow to begin. Leaving the 1000 metres when inclined to race fiercely had to be eased away from the heels of 9 Thar which shifted in when laying in before being corrected by its rider. For some distance thereafter continued to race fiercely and raced wide without cover for the remainder. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Thar (Y M Choi) -Suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer K S Wong was informed that the standard stand down period applies. In addition, 9 Thar will not be permitted to race until such time that it has performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary certificate is produced.
