Race Report

RACE-3 THE HUNAN RATING 85-60 (CLASS 2) 1350 METRES (14)

3 Simply Impeccable (W H Lao) -Was slow to begin.
4 White Debbie (C L Cheung) -Leaving the 300 metres Jockey C L Cheung’s whip momentarily became entangled in the reins. Near the 250 metres was disappointed for run between 9 Silent Height and 2 Victory Megastar.
5 River Unicorn (S Nakano) -Near the 1200 metres was momentarily hampered by 9 Silent Height which shifted out abruptly away from 8 Fifer. Rider reported that shortly after the start, his right stirrup leather buckle became dismantled and as a result he lost the use of his right stirrup iron thereafter. He further added that leaving the 600 metres his saddle slipped to the left and as such he elected to remove his foot from his left stirrup iron in order to regain some balance to ride hands and heels in the home straight. Nevertheless, he added that he was placed at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race, as he was unable to ride his mount out in his usual manner. An inspection of Jockey S Nakano’s saddle post race revealed that it was in satisfactory condition. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
7 Hostwin Achilles (J B Hamel) -Underwent a veterinary and farrier inspection behind the barriers and was subsequently passed fit to race.
8 Fifer (M Tanaka) -Leaving the 500 metres momentarily raced in restricted room between 2 Victory Megastar which shifted in slightly and 4 White Debbie which shifted out around 7 Hostwin Achilles to improve when not sufficiently clear to do so. Jockey C L Cheung the rider of 4 White Debbie was issued a severe reprimand and was advised he is to ensure he is sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground at all times. Rider reported that his mount was having its first start on the sand track and near the 1000 metres when crossed by 9 Silent Height his mount resented racing in the kick back and thereafter never travelled comfortably. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
9 Silent Height (Y M Choi) -Near the 1200 metres shifted out abruptly away from 8 Fifer.
