RACE-3 MAGIC MILLIONS 2021 GOLD COAST 2YOS IN TRAINING SALE STAKES RATING 70+ (CLASS 1&2) 1200 METRES (32)

1 Thanks Forever (B Yamzon) -After being loaded, became fractious, was taken out of the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to race. Trainer N Moore was informed that a warning had been placed on 1 Thanks Forever in relation to its barrier manners. Was inclined to hang in under pressure in the home straight.
2 Star Of Yiu Cheung (S Nakano) -Rider reported that he lost the use of his right stirrup iron on jumping away and was unable to regain its use and as he was unbalanced in the saddle, he then elected to removed his foot from the left stirrup iron near the 600 metres to improve his balance in the saddle. A post race swab was taken for analysis. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
3 Mountain Tiger (M Tanaka) -Jumped away awkwardly.
4 Lover Paradise (C L Cheung) -Jumped away awkwardly. Was held up on entering the home straight and was unable to establish clear running until near the 150 metres.

RACING INCIDENT & INQUIRY:
The Stewards opened an inquiry into the reasons Jockey S Nakano the rider of 2 Star Of Yiu Cheung lost the use of his right stirrup iron shortly after the start. The Stewards inspected Jockey S Nakano’s saddle immediately after the race and were satisfied that the saddle was in good condition. After hearing the evidence from both Jockey S Nakano and Mr. W Smith the trainer of 2 Star Of Yiu Cheung, the inquiry was adjourned to a date and time to be fixed.
