Race Report

RACE-3 THE DARLINGTON RATING 70+ (CLASS 1&2) 1200 METRES (101)

1 Star Of Yiu Cheung (C L Cheung) -Resaddled behind the barriers. Shortly after the start momentarily raced tight to the inside of 10 Electroplate Alloy which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
2 Thanks Forever (K H Yu) -Near the 950 metres blundered. A post race veterinary examination revealed it had suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer N Moore was advised that the standard stand down period applies (7 days training/21 days racing) and before 2 Thanks Forever is permitted to race again, it will be required to undergo an official Barrier Trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards and a veterinary certificate must be produced.
3 Sacred Capital (L Corrales) -Raced wide without cover until near the 600 metres.
4 Sheng Li Superstar (Apprentice Tesuri) -Leaving the 900 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of 12 Arriba Arriba. Raced wide without cover from the 500 metres and near the 400 metres had to be steadied from the heels of 12 Arriba Arriba which shifted out slightly when hanging out. Rider dropped whip near the 100 metres.
5 Gon Sai Baau (S Nakano) -Shortly after the start was eased when racing in restricted room between 4 Sheng Li Superstar and 2 Thanks Forever which shifted out slightly.
6 Qian Gua (Y M Choi) -Bumped with 7 Mountain Tiger on jumping away.
7 Mountain Tiger (T Appie) -Bumped with 6 Qian Gua on jumping away.
8 Fortune Treasure (S H Huang) -Shortly after the start was tightened for room between 11 Sacred Magnate which shifted in slightly and 12 Arriba Arriba which shifted out when hanging out despite the efforts of its rider. After considering all of the circumstances, a warning was issued on 12 Arriba Arriba in relation to its racing manners. Near the 650 metres had to be steadied when racing in restricted room between 9 Hostwin Saturn which had improved quickly to its inside and 11 Sacred Magnate which shifted in momentarily before being corrected by its rider. After considering all of the circumstances, Jockey H Lam the rider of 11 Sacred Magnate was issued a severe reprimand and he was advised that he would be expected to make a greater effort than he did on this occasion to prevent his mount from shifting in.
9 Hostwin Saturn (W H Lao) -Hampered near the 650 metres.
10 Electroplate Alloy (Apprentice X C Liang) -Over the concluding stages was eased away from the heels of 5 Gon Sai Baau which shifted in under pressure whilst being ridden along. Jockey S Nakano the rider of 5 Gon Sai Baau was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future.
11 Sacred Magnate (H Lam) -Shortly after the start had to be steadied when tightened for room between 12 Arriba Arriba which hung out despite the efforts of its rider and 1 Star Of Yiu Cheung which was taken in by 10 Electroplate Alloy which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. After considering all of the circumstances, a warning was issued on 12 Arriba Arriba in relation to its racing manner. Apprentice X C Liang the rider of 10 Electroplate Alloy was issued a severe reprimand and he was advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground at all times.
12 Arriba Arriba (A A Rivera) -Hung out on jumping away despite the efforts of its rider. Trainer M C Tam was informed that a warning had been placed on 12 Arriba Arriba in relation to its racing manners. Hung out rounding the turn near the 750 metres. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
