Race Report

RACE-5 THE LAI SEE RATING 60-35 (CLASS 3&4) 1200 METRES (139)

1 Diamond Rivers (L Corrales) -Was slow to begin.
2 Star Of Venus (K H Yu) -Was inclined to lay out for a short distance after the start. Near the 850 metres was inconvenienced by 6 Snow Dragon which shifted out when racing fiercely.
3 Treasurelake Super (W H Lao) -Was inclined to lay out for a short distance after the start. Raced wide without cover throughout.
4 Hostwin Euphoria (H Lam) -Rider reported his mount was inclined to hang out from the 600 metres until entering the home straight.
5 Shaibanat (Y M Choi) -Was fractious in the barriers and anticipated the start. Shortly after the start the left side blinker strap had become unbuckled, placing its rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. Near the 1100 metres was inclined to shift in and away from 7 For Community of its own accord and as a result made contact with the running rail. For some distance approaching and passing the 900 metres raced tight to the inside 9 Handsome Alloy which was inclined to lay in. Raced wide without cover from the 500 metres. Near the 350 metres had to be steadied away from the heels of 6 Snow Dragon which shifted out after being steadied outwards when awkwardly placed on the heels of 3 Treasurelake Super. As the Stewards deemed this a racing incident, no action was taken. A post race veterinary examination revealed a small amount of blood in the right nostril. Trainers K C Tse/K S Ho were informed that they would be required to present 5 Shaibanat to the Veterinary Hospital for a thorough veterinary examination on Sunday, 6 February 2022.
6 Snow Dragon (C L Cheung) -Was marginally slow to begin. Near the 1100 metres had to be checked away from the heels of 5 Shaibanat which after its left side blinker strap had become unbuckled shifted in and away from 7 For Community despite the efforts of its rider. For some distance approaching and passing the 900 metres raced fiercely and proved difficult to settle despite the efforts of its rider. Was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn and near the 350 metres had to be steadied outwards when awkwardly placed on the heels of 3 Treasurelake Super.
7 For Community (S Nakano) -Bumped by 9 Handsome Alloy on jumping away. Was inclined to shift out under pressure over the final 100 metres,
8 Golden Rose (K F Choi) -Raced wide without cover throughout and was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary examination revealed that 8 Golden Rose had suffered a bleeding attack. Trainer C W Choi was informed that the standard stand down period (7 days training/21 days racing) applies and before being permitted to race again will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official Barrier Trial and a veterinary certificate is produced.
9 Handsome Alloy (Apprentice X C Liang) -Jumped away awkwardly and bumped 7 For Community. Was inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
10 River Pentium (S H Huang) -Cast is left fore plate during the run.
